January Spotlight

Welcome back to another year of setting goals, New Year resolutions and adventure. On behalf of the team at Hall Consulting Group, we hope you had a wonderful holiday season break and wish you an abundance of success as we start a new decade filled with new opportunities and growth.

As many of you know our 2019 year was Hall Consulting Group’s “Red, White, Green” year, where we reflected on a monthly bases touching on triumphs, important team/client news, birthdays, raising awareness for mental health and the wonderful programs run by batyr increasing our goal of $5,000 and successfully raising $7,828.00.

2019 was a year of appreciation and reflecting on the strength, brilliance and growth that we strive to deliver our clients. We are the cheer squad on the sidelines cheering you on as you take that leap into a new business opportunity, continue to grow in an existing business or aim for a personal goal. We have thoroughly enjoyed celebrating these milestones with our clients and look forward to what doors the new decade will bring you.

We would like to take a moment to acknowledge the devastation that has hit Australia in the past few months as the 2019 year came to an end. We appreciate every single fire fighter who fought fiercely to protect thousands of people’s homes, our wild life and our communities. Thank you to the volunteers in every aspect, may it be food, shelter or clothing. We are a multi-cultural country who stood together during a heartbreaking time. We thank the NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern  & Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for their support in sending a team of NZ & Canadian fire fighter’s to help relieve our exhausted fire fighters after months of fighting the blazes. Many prime ministers around the world either donated to NSW Rural Service, sent volunteer fire fighters or sent encouraging support. Many celebrities and high profile people also took the time to donate to WIRES, NSW Fire Service & Rural Fire Services raising more than tens of millions of dollars. Our beautiful Koalas are now on the endangered species list with over 1 billion animals lost. Our hearts go out to our beautiful country and we are positive Australia will recover from this as we are a very resilient country.

If you have been effected by these fires we extend our thoughts and heartfelt wishes to you and highly recommend you read about the ATO Bushfire obligations on our website. If you need further assistance with understanding the ATO Bushfire obligations please don’t hesitate to speak with your accountant.

Our January spotlight begins with a big happy birthday to both Grace (Accountant) & Nicole (Engagement & Administrative Coordinator). A birthday can be seen as a serious or joyful time depending on one’s age and one’s attitude towards life. Another year has passed and we look back on failures and successes. We think about our goals for the future and reflect on the past year. These are all thoughts that may came up on a birthday, but the main thing is to use a birthday as an opportunity to celebrate life and be joyful for the chance to be with friends and family. We hope you ladies had a wonderful day and look forward to many more years celebrating with you. We also take this time to welcome Nicole back after living abroad in Canada for 5 months.

Catastrophic fires, the worst drought in history and record high temperatures are taking a tragic toll on native wildlife.

“In WIRES history we have never seen a concurrent series of emergencies events like those that began in November. Hundreds of fires over weeks have burnt over 4.9 million hectares of land in NSW alone. Many animals were already struggling with a lack of water and food due to the drought. With the fires destroying unprecedented amounts of habitat, food shortages have increased and lack of suitable habitat will be a significant long-term challenge for surviving wildlife.

It is impossible to know how many animals have perished and it will be many months before the impact on wild populations can be better understood but ecologists at Sydney University have estimated over 800 million animals have been affected in NSW and over 1 billion animals in Australia since September.

Summer is a frantically busy time for wildlife rescue and there are still over 100 fires burning in NSW. In December alone there were over 20,000 calls to WIRES 1300 line, a 14% increase on last year, and volunteers attended over 3,300 rescues.

Thanks to the incredibly generous support provided by the national and international community in the first week of January, WIRES is now able to offer national emergency support to assist groups working with wildlife affected by these emergency events.”

To help rescue sick, injured and orphaned wildlife Hall Consulting will be supporting WIRES Emergency Fund and donating a % of revenue from our Nov-Dec months.
