Looking at the positives in life

There is no doubt that the past 2 years have been a big adjustment for everyone. COVID has consumed our every day watching case numbers rise and fall. Going in and out of lockdown, missing loved ones and finding the new norm in life. HCG is all about finding the positive in a tough situation and our amazing team and clients have taken up some great skills and hobbies during the past two NSW Lockdowns. Here is a snapshot of how our team has turned a challenging time into a time for improvement.

Our wonderful accountant Emma joined the team just as NSW went into our second lockdown and has been doing so well given the circumstances. Emma has also taken up a hobby of learning not just one but two new languages via the Duolingo language app. Emma is learning Korean and French.

Our engagement and administrative coordinator Nicole has built her own at-home gym and focused on both mental and physical fitness through mind, body, and soul. Nicole has accumulated her own weights set, treadmill, boxing bag and focuses on meditation and hypnotherapy to strengthen her mental health.

Our amazing business services manager Fiona has been quite the hobby queen during lockdown by spending many weekends learning how to ride a unicycle and got a bearded dragon named Mochi.

The beautiful Jocelyn who is another wonderful accountant of ours has started virtual dance classes and is enjoying it after a hard day’s work.

Venetta our phenomenal director has been doing virtual yoga and lots of walking during the exercise allowance time appreciating the nature and beauty of the fresh air and outdoors. Venetta has also developed a new love of balcony gardening and looking after rainbow lorikeet parrots who have been visiting her every day.

Our new accounting team member Helen who joined right in the middle of lockdown has started doing HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). Helen says this is easy to pick up and friendly for beginners. You can do 5 minutes or more whatever suits your lifestyle. Helen’s target is to keep active and usually does 15 mins to 30 minutes of HIIT per day.

Our SMSF Pro Hugh has been learning how to play the piano with his daughter during NSW most recent lockdown and is slowly but surely getting the hang of it and enjoying quality time with his little girl.

Our Receptionist Pamela has been keeping active by doing Latino Zumba classes from YouTube. Pamela has been doing 30 minutes per day to stay active. Pamela has also taken the time on weekends to do some painting and baking.

Health and wellness is a running theme this lockdown within our HCG Family as Sean our Associate has been utilizing the 1 hour per day exercise restrictions to go on runs and keeping his fitness up.

Roz who is our administration manager is the absolute cocktail and cooking queen! Roz has always had a hobby for cooking and since COVID19 has spent time finessing skills around cooking and recipes. This includes new brownies (Sour Cherry and red velvet cheesecake) which she has adapted from other cooks to make her own (using gluten-free flours and different types of sugar). Some great successes and some flops, but they have all been eaten!

Roz enjoys making up new Cocktail combinations and with her trusty shaker has updated and finessed new recipes for:

Chilli Pineapple Margarita; Pina Hot Colada (a rip on Pina Colada) and the Watermelon Lime Margarita.

Thanks to Roz cocktail making has become a new team favourite activity as everyone wanted their own set to practice HCG-Roz Inspired cocktail recipes. We will be creating our own HCG Freedom cocktail once we can all see each other again

The team at HCG would also like to take a moment to thank all the frontline workers for their hard work and dedication. We appreciate you and we support you.
